(1) ONGOING - Marks Hall Gardens. There's a Children's Snowdrop Trail taking place this February half term by completing our fun and informative Snowdrop Trail. Discover the beautiful Snowdrop display in Robins Grove and complete the Snowdrop fact-finding quest to claim your own Snowdrop prize. Suitable for ages: 3 - 12 years the trail cost: is just £1.50 on top of the standard admission price.


(2) NOW UNTIL 30th MAY - Braintree Museum, Manor Street. Go along and see the fascinating Courtaulds, origins, innovations and family exhibition with rare original prints by Paul Gauguin

(Go-Gan) documenting the life and legacy of the Courtaulds textile business in Braintree, pioneering new technology in the textile industry to creating one of the world’s greatest collections of impressionist art. Enjoy Talks, walks and tours along side the exhibition which is open Tuesday to Saturday 10am until 4pm each day until 30th May. (3) SATURDAY 22nd FEBRUARY - The Empire Theatre, Halstead. 'Noasis' the ultimate tribute to Manchester rockers Oasis are coming to the Empire Theatre from 7p.m. Noasis re-create songs from every era of Oasis from the hits of the 90s when Brit Pop was at its height, to their hits of today. Tickets are £16 per person and can be booked online via the link to the Empire Theatre Halstead on our website.


(4) SATURDAY 22nd FEBRUARY - Marks Hall Gardens in Coggeshall are here to help if you're dreaming of a perfect wedding with an open day on Sat 22nd Feb between 11am and 3pm. Explore the venue, meet the experienced wedding team and imagine your wedding set in the historical grounds of Marks Hall Estate. Local suppliers will also be on hand to discuss your wedding plans as you enjoy a glass of bubbly and sample the amazing canapes from a local caterer. (5) SUNDAY 23rd FEBRUARY - Jardins in East Street Braintree invites you  to Rock n Roll with Radar Record Hop. The concert and dance takes place between 2-7pm with entry at just £5 on the door.

(7) WEDNESDAY 26th FEBRUARY - Riverside Spice in Earls Colne invites you to join them for their first music event of the year with a delicious meal, inspired by tastes from the East and entertainment from the ever-popular Marshall King. Advance booking is advised.


(8) FRIDAY 28th & SATURDAY 29th FEBRUARY - The Chappel Winter Beer Festival. takes place at the East Anglian railway museum.  Sample beers from small local breweries as well as rarities not normally available in Essex. plus great festival food from on-site caterers. The museum is fully open during the Winter Beer Festival so you can explore the museum, peek ‘behind the scenes’ into the Restoration Shed, admire the locomotives, coaches and wagons and take in the model railway layouts. They'll also be running ESCAPE ROOMS on the Saturday in the atmospheric Victorian station buildings, pre-booking is essential. (11) SATURDAY 29th FEBRUARY - The “Heditude” Music Festival is a little indoor music festival that aims to bring some musical winter warmth to the community. Taking place at the Headingham Sports and Social Club it will feature 8 live acts culminating with the very popular “Point Clear” food and drink are available, music is from 4.30 – 10.30 and entry is by donation. Doors open at 4pm.


(12) SATURDAY 29th FEBRUARY - Braintree Arts Theatre. The Searchers and Hollies Experience brings to the stage the magical hits of two of the biggest bands from the 1960s, performed by the amazing ‘Fat Old Dad’ Band is coming to the Braintree Arts Theatre in Notley Road This special tribute show will be packed with hits including 'Sweets for My Sweet', 'Sugar and Spice', 'He Ain’t Heavy He’s My Brother' and many more. Tickets are £15, and £13 for concessions with the show commencing at 7p.m.

(15) FRIDAY 6th MARCH - Jardins, East Street, Braintree. Tribute night with ‘Johnny Mack’ along with ‘Nite Train Disco’ 7.30pm until 12.30am. This is a charity fund raiser for MacMillan Cancer and Essex and Hert’s air ambulance. Tickets are £5 available from ‘The Pub’ East Street, Braintree.


(16) SATURDAY 21st MARCH - Timbers Restaurant in Blake End. David Boakes and Dancers will be showcasing the fantastic music and moves of Michael Jackson. (17) SATURDAY 24th MARCH - Marks Hall Gardens. Operation Varsity,  In remembrance the Marks Hall Estate have created a memorial site within the Arboretum and will commemorate this historic events 75th anniversary. Representatives from the Airborne Forces, past and present veterans and their families will join a procession leaving the visitor centre at 9am. (18) FROM MONDAY 6th APRIL - Braintree Town Hall are running a relaxation and meditation course over 6 weeks starting on Monday the 6th of April between 1 and 2 p.m.  Meditations are practiced whilst sitting on chairs and the entire course costs only £36. (19) ONGOING - The Kings Head, Gosfield. For all you lovers of traditional hearty pub food They always has a delicious selection on offer. (20) ONGOING - Braintree Town Hall invites you to their Dementia Friendly ‘walk & talk’ which takes place every first Tuesday of the month. Meet in their reception area for a 10am start with refreshments available after the walk. Plus every Monday between 10am and noon there's a free weekly games club for Adults to socialise and enjoy friendly games with others while creating new friendships. Everyone is welcome to come along whenever they please with no registration required and refreshments are also available to purchase.
